From soothing sunburn, to teeth whitening to cleaning - there are so many wonderful uses for apple cider vinegar, not to mention the health benefits that come with this natural and popular household item.
Vinegar itself is something that has been used for centuries for various cooking and household purposes and within the natural health community, apple cider vinegar is the most popular of them all - with many of the health benefits supported by scientific research.
Here are 25 ways you can use this baby!
1) Liver Tonic / Detox Drink
Mix 2 Tbsp ACV and 2 Tbsp lemon juice with 1 glass of warm water. Add 1 Tsp ground ginger, 1/2 Tsp cinnamon with a dash of cayenne paper. Don't forget you can always add some raw honey to enhance the flavour if needed! This mix can reduce blood pressure, regulates your pH levels, balances blood sugar levels and increases your metabolism. Drink 1 cup 20 minutes before your first meal of the day.
2) All Natural Household Cleaner
The main substance in vinegar is acetic acid and it is known to kill bacteria and/or prevent them from multiplying. These anti-bacterial properties and the balanced pH of ACV make it the perfect natural household cleaning product. Fill a spray bottle with equal parts water and ACV then spray windows, counters and benchtops for cleaning and disinfecting.
3) Hayfever / Seasonal Allergies
Fight seasonal allergies and hayfever with this amazing mix:
Put 2 Tbsp in a large glass of water and drink three times daily. The ACV helps disperse mucous in your body and supports lymphatic drainage. It also supports the immune system and can work wonders to clear your sinuses.

If you spent too much time in the sun, soothe your skin by adding 1 Cup of ACV to a lukewarm bath together with 1/4 Cup coconut oil and a few drops of either Peppermint or Lavender essential oils.
9) Teeth Whitener
One of my favourite uses for ACV is as a natural teeth whitener. Take your finger and rub ACV on your teeth for 1 minute, then simply rinse with water. The pH of ACV can remove stains from your teeth and over time will naturally help whiten! No bleach or nasties needed here!
10) Hair Conditioner
ACV is amazing as a natural hair conditioner and makes your hair super shiny! Grab an empty shampoo/ conditioner bottle, fill it with 1 Tbsp of ACV and 1 Cup of water and a few drops of your favourite essential oil. Pour this on your hair after shampooing and really get into the roots, making sure your hair is thoroughly covered. Leave in for 2 minutes and then rinse thoroughly.
Do this three times per week for best results!
11) Stops Hiccups
Yep, your read that right! This baby has the ability to stop a hiccup in it's tracks. Simply take 1 Tsp of ACV and the active ingredients will send a message to the nerves in the throat to stop the spasms! Be warned - it is extremely sour and not the most pleasant thing to take without dilution!
12) Indigestion / Reflux
If you suffer from indigestion or reflux (or are simply planning to indulge in foods that you may regret later) try this folk remedy which is known to work wonders. Add 1 Tsp of honey and 1 Tsp of ACV to a glass of warm water and drink it 30 minutes before eating.
13) Skin Toner / Eczema & Acne Treatment
ACV is great natural skin toner as well as a natural home remedy for acne. Its antibacterial properties help keep acne under control, and the malic and lactic acids soften and exfoliate skin while reducing red spots and balancing your pH. Rub apple cider vinegar on the effected skin or use it as a wash — follow with either coconut oil and/or essential oils on the area to support further healing.
14) Ease Unsightly Varicose Veins
As a natural anti-inflammatory, ACV is great for easing varicose veins as it improves circulation in the vein walls and reduces the bulging effect.
Combine ACV with pure witch hazel and rub on veins in a circular motion and you should start to see improvements within a couple of weeks.
15) Freshen Clothes
Remove musty odours and brighten your colours by adding 1 cup of ACV to the wash cycle.
16) Toilet & Tub Cleaner
Clean your toilets, tubs and sinks without a hint of bleach or nasty chemicals! You can use undiluted ACV on porcelain surfaces and for hard water stains in sinks, fill with hot water and 2 cups of ACV Let the mixture soak for between 30 minutes to 2 hours (depending on the stain).
This list could actually go on and on and on, but I'll stop it there for you! I hope you enjoyed the read and have learnt a few handy tips and tricks for ACV - oh and don't forget - it makes a great salad dressing too!
